What is Be, Together?

Be, Together is a community music and wellness initiative that is tailored to support military veterans with a diagnosis of PTSD.

In the Be, Together Ukulele Band we use ukuleles, singing, and other wellness and music based interventions to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere through music therapy.

What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is an evidence-based practice which utilizes music as a tool to address non-music goals. Be, Together is facilitated by a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and is hosted by Giving Song, LLC. A private music therapy practice based out of Columbia, MO.

 

Group Goals

Be, Together Ukulele Band aims to address the following therapy and wellness goals:

Do I need any music experience?

No! All skill levels are welcome. You will learn everything you need to know about ukulele within the group. We will help you to be successful and have you making music right away. We provide the instruments and the music that you love! We will teach and play a variety of genres and decades to accommodate group tastes.

 

Group Details

Location: Truman VA Hospital; Patient Education Center - Classroom D

Format: Small in-person group (with COVID precautions to keep all group members safe)

Attendance Fee: Free for 8 Veterans

Day/Time: Thursday Mornings - STARTING FALL 2022!!!
